What to Expect with IJ Photo
First, when you book your session, you'll be asked to sign a contract. Please review this document carefully since it contains essential information about your session. You'll also need to pay and choose a preferred date for your maternity session.
Next, it's time to plan your wardrobe! You can visit the studio to select your attire or do it online. I'm happy to send you photos or do a Zoom call if you can't make it in person. The outfits are designed to fit most sizes, so there is no need to worry. It's also a great idea to book your hair and makeup with your favorite stylist now.
Then, Lights, Camera, and Action!
After each session, you will be emailed a gallery of images to choose from. Then, we will have a short Zoom call (15 minutes) to answer any questions you have and help you place your order that same day!
After your baby is born, please contact me within 48 hours to confirm or adjust your appointment. All newborn sessions are booked in the studio and planned accordingly. It's best to do your newborn session when your baby is between 7 and 21 days old whenever possible. If your baby is slightly older, that's okay; I will make accommodations to fit your child's needs. Please note that not all poses or outfits will work as your baby ages, and older babies are more alert and have different needs. To get photos that match the images seen in the portfolio, please do your best to schedule as early as possible. If you have questions regarding when to schedule, please ask!

About Your Photographer
Hello! I'm Irene Jones, owner of IJ Photo.
I have been a photographer since 1999. I love photographing real moments, genuine laughter, and love. I enjoy working in my beautiful studio in Everett as well as on location for maternity sessions (weather permitting). My many years of experience enable me to help my clients and their families feel natural in front of the camera. They know that I can capture everyone at their best. My work blends authentic moments with dramatic light, vivid colors, and personal milestones.
I love working with repeat clients at my Everett studio or on location to capture each new stage of life. In addition to photographing maternity sessions, I also love to do newborn photos, baby milestone sessions, and family portraits.
Beyond my photography work, I love the PNW, spending time with my four kids, reading, and watching movies. Storytelling and family are a big part of who I am.
I believe in inclusivity and want to work with people from all walks of life. I am excited to work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and people of all nationalities, races, religious beliefs, and backgrounds. I welcome your unique perspective and can't wait to hear your story.
- Where are you located?

IJ Photo studio is located at 2815 Baker Ave Suite 205, Everett WA 98201. Parking is available in front of the main entrance and across the street in the gravel lot.
- Do you shoot on location?

Yes! You can choose a location or studio maternity session. Location sessions depend on the weather, and I suggest a studio session between October and February. Newborn sessions are in the studio only.
- Can I try on your dresses before my shoot?

Yes! Please schedule a fitting appointment at least a week before your session at the studio. Most outfits are one size fits all. Others are M/L and have quite a bit of stretch.
- When should I book my maternity session?

It's best to book your maternity session when you are between 28-34 weeks.
- How long does it take to get to see my photos?

Most galleries are ready in 10-14 days.
- How will I view my photos?

After each session, you will be emailed a gallery of images to choose from. Then, we will have a short Zoom call (15 minutes) to answer any questions you have and help you place your order that same day!
- Will my photos be retouched?
-
Yes! Your images are edited when you see them. Upon purchase, they are ready for download and sharing. If you would like additional retouching to remove skin imperfections, fly-away hairs, etc., you can purchase this service on a per-image basis for $25 each.
All prints, wall art, and albums include this additional retouching FREE!
- When should I book my newborn session?

It's best to book your newborn session for when your baby will be between 7-21 days old. It is possible to do sessions with slightly older babies if needed. Please note that poses/outfits/prop availability will vary, and not all options will be available for older newborns.
- Do I need to buy my images separately?
-
Yes, your session fee covers my time and expertise during the session, as well as the use of props/outfits, depending on the subject. Any digital files and prints or albums included in your package are complementary.
Individual digital files can be purchased for $30 each with a minimum order of $350 when purchasing digital files only. Prints and wall art start at $75. All prints include a matching retouched digital file.
- How long will my maternity or newborn session be?

Studio and location maternity sessions, except for the mini session, are approx 90-120 minutes. Mini sessions are 30 minutes.
Newborn sessions are usually 2-4 hours, depending on your baby. Mini newborn sessions are 60 minutes.
- How many outfits can I choose from my Maternity session?
-
You will pick 4-6 outfits for your session. Please note that not all outfits will be used during your session; some might be photographed on the same or similar background.
Location sessions are limited to certain outfits and a max of 4.
Mini Maternity sessions are limited to 2 outfits.
You can provide an outfit(s) of your own in exchange for an outfit from the studio collection.
- What does the complementary album in the All Inclusive Bundle include?

If you are a busy parent who understands how important capturing these moments is but doesn't want to stress about details, you'll love the all-inclusive package. The album provided is an 8x8 Lay-flat book. Your photographer will choose ten images and bind them in black leather with your baby's name and birthday printed on the cover. If you'd like to customize this album, you can for an additional fee. Please ask for details during your ordering appointment.
